Both! I can currently see clients in the office on Mondays. All other appointments are teletherapy through a secure web-based telemedicine platform (doxy.me).
I do therapy with individuals and couples. I do not see kids or families. If either type of treatment is indicated, I can refer you to a child and/or family therapist.
A 50-60 minute session for individuals is $120. Couples sessions are 60-80 minutes and cost $150/session. These rates apply to both in-office and teletherapy sessions.
If we are meeting in person, I can take cash, check, or credit cards. For teletherapy, you must fill out a credit card authorization form and I will charge your card after each session.
I take two MediCal insurances: Anthem Blue Cross and MHN (HealthNet). Please note that I have limited spots for MediCal clients, please contact me to see if I have openings. I also accept commercial MHN (HealthNet). If I do not accept your insurance, I can, upon request, provide you with a "super bill" to submit to your insurance company so they may reimburse you [you need to contact your insurance provider to see if this is an option].
Yes, I encourage you to do so! I offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can decide if you'd like to schedule with me.
You can give me a call, send me an email, or fill out the Contact Me form on this site and I will contact you.
I have appointments available on Mondays in the office from 9AM - 4PM. Tuesdays and Thursdays I am available from 9AM-1PM via teletherapy and Wednesdays from 9AM-4PM.
Yes, paperwork is an essential evil! Head on over to the Forms section of the web site. You will need to fill out a "New Client Intake" form, an Informed Consent form (I will also go over this with you in the first session), a HIPAA form, and if you are paying a co-pay or out of pocket, a credit card authorization form. Please print and bring the completed forms to your first session. In the event we are doing teletherapy, please either scan or take a good picture of the completed forms and email them to me. If you do not have access to a printer, please contact me and I will mail a set of forms to you. If you are using your insurance, please make sure to give me a copy of your insurance card, front and back.
The first session is a "get to know you" session, where I get to know you, and you get to know me. It is extremely important that you are working with a therapist that you are comfortable with. Therapy works because of the relationship, not necessarily because of fancy interventions! One session does not commit you to a therapist, it must be a good fit.
The No Surprises Act gives you, the client, the right to a "Good Faith Estimate" from me to help estimate expected charges you may be billed. This estimate will be the projected cost of a full year of therapy, although this may or may not be necessary. This is not a contract and you can stop therapy any time you wish.
I know you read to the end just so you could get the answer to this burning question! Currently, I am loving Captain Benjamin Sisko.
